More than 30 men and 60 women will compete today at the 27th annual West Palm Beach Bodybuilding Championships and the Anna Level Figure and Fitness Championships at Dwyer High School
"It is an amateur show strictly (for people) from Martin, St. Lucie, West Palm and Broward counties," promoter Frank Dalto said. "The contestants are usually in their first, second or third show and the winners will move on to bigger and better things.
"In the Anna Level competition, this isn't your muscular bodybuilding women, but more the pretty, feminine, ripped and torn look."
Proceeds will benefit the National Wheelchair Bodybuilding competition to be held in Marchat Dwyer.
Besides the contestants, the day will feature two celebrities -- Roland Kickinger and King Kamali.
Kickinger, a former Mr. Universe who was hand-picked by Arnold Schwarzenegger to play Schwarzenegger in an upcoming movie, will be the master of ceremonies. Kamali is the No. 3-ranked bodybuilder in the world and will be on hand as the guest poser.
"He'll pose for the crowd and they'll also pass the plate for donations," Dalto said.
The prejudging, where the committee will put the contestants in categories, starts at 10 a.m. The finals begin at 7 p.m. Admission for the prejudging is $10 and for the finals $25."
